What I Do

I work with insurers and other organisations to design, build and optimise business rules engines that sit at the core of their pricing, underwriting, claims or administration systems.My focus is on translating complex business and calculation logic into robust, scalable decisioning frameworks that operate reliably in production environments, with particular depth in insurance underwriting, pricing and actuarial systems.I support both new system builds and enhancements to existing platforms, working remotely with international clients on a contract basis.

Corticon & Business Rules Engine Expertise

I have over 13 years’ hands-on experience working with Corticon, the BRM system developed by Progress.I have set up complex Corticon Projects, including multiple database integrations and one with over 900 Rulesheets and over 13,000 Attributes.As an expert Excel user I also build tools and automators to serve as a source of truth against which the business rule output can be tested against.

I am a Qualified Actuary with over 30 years’ experience across insurance, financial services, administration and servicing, including senior and executive roles.
